Introduction

In India , NCC was raised with an aim of grooming both the boys and the girls, nurturing them and directing their energy towards nation building by making them responsible citizens. Today NCC has an enrolled strength of more than 13 lakh cadets and consists of two divisions of all the three Services , i.e., the Senior Division/Senior Wing for boys/girls from colleges and the Junior Division/Junior Wing for boys/girls from schools.

 

Motto of NCC: “Unity and Discipline” .
  1. To develop the qualities of character building, comradeship, discipline , Secular outlook, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service.
  2. To create a human resource of organized , trained and motivated youth , to provide leadership in all walks of life who will serve the nation regardless of which career they choose.
  3. To provide an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to choose the Armed Forces as a career.
      4. GDC Jammu City, Paloura, Mishriwala, Jammu , offers NCC both for boys and girls.
    • Boys unit in the college was established on 26th Nov , 2012.
    • Girls unit was established on 11 July, 2019.
    • The enrolled strength is 100 cadets out of which 50 are boys and 50 are girls of the respective Battalions.
    • Every year our cadets represent the college at various prestigious national level camps like RDC(Republic Day Camp), TSC(Thal Sainik Camp), etc. and also in the local RD Parade at MAM Stadium Jammu.
    • Moreover, the cadets benefit from the B and C certificates as these are the prestigious qualifications which make a student eligible for direct recruitment to army besides reservations in govt. jobs at various levels.
    • College NCC unit is represented by two Associate NCC Officers duly commissioned by NCC for both boys and girls wing viz., 2 J&K Boys Battalion and 2 J&K Girls Battalion.
    • Prof.(Lt) Vijay Kumar,Boys Wing ,got commissioned as Associate NCC Officer in PRCN Course w.e.f 08-02-21 to 08-05-21 at OTA,Kamptee,Maharashtra.
    • Prof.(Lt) Kusha Sharma ,Girls Wing, got commissioned as Associate NCC Officer in PRCN Course w.e.f 08-02-21 to 08-05-21 at OTA,Gwalior,M.P and she also got Sharma Cup for excelling in academics.
    • NCC Cadets participated in the drill and lecture on FCBC and military symbols on 6th December, 2022 by Nb/ Sub. Nissar Hussain, Permanent Instructor, from 2 J&K Boys Bn. in the presence of Lt.Vijay Kumar Rukwal, ANO, NCC, GDC,Paloura,Mishriwala, Jammu under the supervision of the worthy Principal of the College, Prof.(Dr) Ashu Vashisht.
